What Religion Thinks About Manifestation: Understanding Faith and the Power of Manifesting Your Dreams

Why I’m Addressing Manifestation and Faith.

During Self: Art of Becoming Creations’ recent launch of the 2025 Affirmation Calendar, I received a few messages from people, some of whom mentioned that they are Christians and felt hesitant to engage with the idea of manifestation. Many expressed concerns that manifestation practices might conflict with their religious beliefs.

As someone who believes in the power of manifestation and the alignment of mind and action, I felt it was important to address these concerns and share why manifestation and faith can coexist harmoniously.

Before we dive in, I want you to reflect on these three important questions:

  1. Did your faith teach you to ignore your inner power?
  2. Did your faith tell you to avoid the journey of self-discovery and growth?
  3. Did your faith demand that you shouldn’t achieve the life you are meant to live?

Now, let’s explore what religion, specifically Christianity, says about manifestation and why you are, in fact, limitless on your journey.

What is Manifestation, Really?

Manifestation is not about asking for material things, a special person, your dream car, or forcing the universe to give you what you want. It’s about aligning your thoughts, energy, and actions to attract your true desires. It’s the practice of setting intentions, cultivating positive beliefs, and taking inspired action. At the core, it is about the power of your mindset and beliefs shaping your reality.

When you manifest, you are tapping into your inner potential to bring your dreams into existence by aligning your thoughts with your goals and taking actionable steps to achieve them.

It’s a mindset shift. You have to believe that the life you envision is possible and that you are worthy of it.

What Do Religions Say About Manifestation?

1. Christianity and Manifestation

In Christian doctrine, faith is a core principle. Many Christians believe that God’s will governs their lives, and they trust in divine timing and guidance. However, manifestation is often misunderstood as a practice that seeks control over God’s will. Some may feel it conflicts with their faith.

But let’s consider the Bible:

  • Matthew 21:22 states, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
  • Mark 11:24 reinforces this, saying, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

These verses point to faith in prayer and belief as fundamental to receiving blessings. Manifestation is not about controlling the outcome, but rather, it’s about aligning with God’s will, focusing on gratitude, and trusting in your inner strength and purpose.

Rather than seeing manifestation as contradictory to Christianity, it can be viewed as a tool to strengthen faith by focusing on what you can create with God’s guidance and your own willpower. The key is believing in the possibility of the life you desire while trusting that God will lead you in the right direction.

2. Islam and Manifestation

Intentions (Niyyah)

In Islam, intention is a critical concept. The act of setting goals and manifesting desires is not just about wishful thinking but should come from a clear and sincere intention. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

“Actions are judged by their intentions, and each person will be rewarded according to what they intended.” (Sahih Bukhari)

If there’s anything manifestation ACTUALLY “preaches” it has to be to have a clear intention and persist until you wake up and your dream life is your reality.

While manifesting, having the right intentions, clear intentions, and intentions that align with your values and faith is crucial. Whether you are embodying wealth, health, or success, your intention should be pure and aligned with your purpose.

Manifestation in Islam is not about controlling the universe to bend it to your will, but about aligning your efforts, actions, and intentions with faith in Allah’s guidance and timing.

Trust in God’s plan, make your intentions clear, work toward your goals, and have patience.

In this way, Islam’s teachings offer a beautiful, faith-based approach to manifesting your desires while maintaining trust in the divine.

3. Buddhism & Hinduism and Manifestation

  1. Buddhism teaches that our thoughts create our reality. Positive thinking, meditation, and mindfulness are encouraged, helping individuals visualize their desired outcomes. Buddhists believe in the power of intentions and thoughts, which aligns well with the manifestation process.
  2. Hinduism emphasizes the importance of the mind and intentions. The practice of sankalpa, which is a focused intention or will, is similar to manifestation. Hindu beliefs encourage harnessing the energy within to create reality, which resonates deeply with the concept of manifestation.

You do not have to be scared that manifesting your dream life will drive you away from SkyDaddy. Manifestation is often viewed through the lens of personal growth, inner power, and connecting with one’s higher self in many belief systems.

4. Shinto and Manifestation

Shinto, the indigenous spirituality of Japan, focuses on the belief that kami (spiritual beings or gods) inhabit all aspects of the natural world. In Shinto, manifestation is not necessarily about the law of attraction or conscious creation in the Western sense, but rather about connecting with these spiritual forces and aligning one’s intentions with the flow of nature. By engaging in rituals, prayers, and offerings, individuals are encouraged to align their thoughts and actions with the natural order, seeking harmony and balance. Shinto teachings emphasize living in tune with the universe and finding blessings through proper respect and intention.

5. Confucianism and Manifestation

Confucianism emphasizes personal growth, ethical behavior, and societal harmony. While Confucianism does not directly address manifestation in the modern sense, it encourages cultivating virtues like wisdom, kindness, and righteousness. Through personal development, one achieves inner peace and becomes more capable of contributing positively to society. Manifestation can be understood as the result of disciplined self-cultivation and living according to virtues that enhance both personal and collective well-being. If you are manifesting positivity, you will have to think positively, be a cheerful and kind person, and also give back to the universe in the little ways you can. You have to also cultivate the habit of helping others so you can attract abundance.

5. Taoism and Manifestation

Taoism teaches the concept of the Tao, which is “the natural flow of the universe”. It can be described as the source of all things. In Taoism, manifestation is seen as aligning with the Tao—meaning becoming one with the universe. You already have everything you want, you only have to embrace it.

Tao teaches embracing simplicity, humility, and the natural flow of life. Taoists believe that by letting go of excessive desires and forcing things, you allow the universe to bring you what you need in alignment with your true purpose. Thus, manifestation in Taoism is not about controlling outcomes but rather about surrendering to the natural course of events.

Why You Are Limitless: The Connection Between Faith and Manifestation

The idea of being limitless in your manifestation journey with Self: Art of Becoming is not just a catchphrase, or Next You’s most exclusive subscription tier— it’s a belief that you have the power to create the life you desire.

YOU are not bound by circumstances or external factors.

Manifestation aligns with this belief because it encourages you to trust in your power, tap into your potential, and take consistent action.

This isn’t about control or manipulation, but about cultivating a strong mindset and positive habits that empower you to make intentional decisions.

I am a Yoruba girl and since I was young, my father, who is a very cultured man, always repeats this adage— “Nnkan tí o bá gbin, ni yóò dàgbà.” which means “It is what you sow that will grow.”

If you begin your manifestation journey today, you have sowed a seed of abundance.

Faith and manifestation both emphasize trusting in the unseen, believing in your potential, and acting in alignment with your values and goals.

If you’re a Christian, you can see manifestation as a complementary practice that works in harmony with your faith. It’s about trusting in the abundance and power that God has already placed within you, working with intention, and living in alignment with the life you were meant to live.

You have the potential to create and achieve greatness because, at your core, you are limitless.

You are a creation of God, So you are a Creator.

How You Can Start Manifesting

Manifestation begins with belief

Whether you are Christian, Muslim, spiritual, or simply seeking to make positive changes, you absolutely have the ability to manifest your desires. It’s about setting your intentions clearly, maintaining a positive mindset, and taking inspired action.

As part of the Self: Art of Becoming community, we provide tools like the Digital Manifestation Journal and the Affirmation Word of the Day Calendar to help you stay aligned with your dreams. These tools help you cultivate the mindset necessary for success, stay on track with your goals, and celebrate each step forward.

Breaking Free from Limiting Beliefs

Religious teachings remind us that faith, action, and the right mindset can transform our lives.

But often, we are held back by limiting beliefs, self damaging thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” or “It’s too late for me.” “I am already old” “I can’t get that skill anymore” “I just need to work my ass off”

Words like this are barriers and self-imposed barriers are usually the hardest to break off because the more you think like this, the more it will be reflected in your reality.

Manifesting is about embracing a limitless mindset and it requires challenging them head-on.

You Are Limitless

Say it after me, “I am limitless,”

January 11 is a special date in Next You Community because it is “Manifestation Day”, and Affirmation Word of the Day is “Limitless”

“I am limitless,” invites you to break free from the chains of self-doubt and fear. Consider these truths:

  • Your Potential Is Infinite: Think of every successful person who once doubted themselves but kept going. You are no different. You can be successful if you persist in your desire. That’s it. Don’t quit until you get what you deserve.
  • Your Thoughts Are Powerful: Just as religion teaches that faith moves mountains, you also have to believe that you can manifest the life you want. Do you want it? Then persist in your thoughts that you have it.
  • Your Actions Shape Your Future: Manifesting is not about passive wishing. You have to keep assuming it is yours. You have to align your intentions, thoughts, and actions to get what you desire. There’s no logic in manifestation. You can manifest anything at all, and it can happen as quickly as you decide.
